About this project
ThermaCore is an ESP32-based transformer thermal monitoring system that simultaneously reads three LM35DZ precision temperature sensors placed at the ambient, core, and winding positions of a distribution transformer. The firmware converts each 10 mV/°C analogue output to a calibrated temperature using 64-sample ADC oversampling, then applies a simplified IEEE C57.91 derating model to compute the safe load capacity percentage in real time. A 1.8-inch ST7735 TFT colour display shows all three temperatures, a colour-coded derating bar graph, and the thermal state (NORMAL / WARM / DERATE). Three indicator LEDs mirror the state, and an ESP32 WiFi web dashboard streams all four metrics to any browser with two-second auto-refresh.
