AquaRoot — Smart Soil Moisture Auto-Irrigation System
About this project
AquaRoot turns a ₹40 resistive soil moisture sensor and a relay module into a complete smart irrigation controller. Push the sensor probes into any soil — the LCD instantly shows moisture percentage (0–100%), a 5-LED bar graph lights up proportionally, and a relay automatically switches a water pump ON when moisture drops below a programmable threshold. Two buttons let you set the dry threshold (default 40%) — adjust it up or down in 5% steps and the new value is saved to EEPROM so it survives power cuts. A buzzer fires a critical alert when moisture hits below 20% (danger zone for most plants). This project teaches resistive voltage-divider sensing, relay-driven load switching, EEPROM non-volatile storage, and real-world calibration — all fundamental skills for smart agriculture IoT, automated greenhouse systems, and soil monitoring networks.
