AxisStorm — ADXL345 3-Axis Tilt & Impact Sentinel
About this project
AxisStorm interfaces the ADXL345 digital accelerometer to an ESP32 using raw I2C register programming — no library. The ADXL345 reports 16-bit signed acceleration on three axes at 100 samples/second; raw counts are converted to g using the 3.9 mg/LSB scale factor, then processed into pitch and roll tilt angles via trigonometry. Simultaneously, hardware interrupt detection is configured directly in the sensor's registers: single-tap, double-tap, and free-fall events fire INT1, which the ESP32 reads on GPIO 34. A 50-sample RMS window quantifies vibration intensity. Everything streams to a 128×64 SSD1306 OLED and to a live web dashboard at 192.168.4.1 where a phone can monitor all three axes, tilt angles, vibration RMS, and the latest gesture event — ideal for machine-health monitoring, tilt sensing, and impact logging.
