PullGuard — Manual Fire Alarm Pull Station
About this project
PullGuard is a manual fire alarm pull station built on Arduino Uno that simulates a critical fire safety device found in every commercial building. The system uses a large tactile push button to trigger a latched alarm condition, activating a 12V siren relay, flashing strobe LED, and LCD annunciator displaying alarm status and activation timestamp. A key-switch (simulated with a toggle switch) allows authorized personnel to silence the alarm and reset the system. The project implements break-glass station logic: once pulled, the alarm remains active until manually reset, exactly as required by NFPA 72 fire alarm code. Three status LEDs (green/yellow/red) indicate NORMAL, PRE-ALARM, and ALARM states, while a 16×2 I2C LCD displays system status and elapsed time since activation.
